In a lot of ways, 1.5 was ahead of its time. While many pre-1.13 updates were transformative, few were as revolutionary and as laser-focused as the Redstone Update. While its appeal may not be as massive outside the Redstone community, the impact items like hoppers, droppers, and comparators had on the game are undeniable.

Redstone is one of Minecraft's most amazing and constantly evolving aspects, with items introduced in 1.5 still being pushed to the bleeding edge nearly a decade later.

Outside of the Redstone fanatics *COUGH* mumbo *COUGH*, the technology still sees use almost ubiquitously, and there's no doubt Redstone wouldn't be where it is today were it not for 1.5.
