A recipe list of Minecraft armours:

ree

Armour in Minecraft gives any player protection from the attacks. It consists of one helmet, one chest plate, boots, and leggings. As you keep progressing in the survival mode, you need stronger Armour. Apart from good Armour, you will need Armour toughness too. Armour toughness reduces the amount of damage taken by the player per hit.

Armour toughness in Minecraft is an attribute of Armour defence level. It provides the player with extra protection from strong attacks. Toughness level acts as extended life for a player when under attack.

There are seven Armour types in Minecraft; turtle shell, leather, golden, chainmail, iron, diamond and netherite. Armour bars above the health bar show defence points.

*You can add a splash of colour to your leather Armour by dying it. You can also add powers to your Armour to make enchanted helmets, caps, chest-plates, leggings, pants, or boots.

In Minecraft, a shield is a defensive item and is one of the many items of Armour that you can make. It is used to protect a player against attacks.

To make a shield, 1 iron ingot and 6 wood planks are required.

[In Bedrock Edition, pillagers and vindicators that spawn in raids have a small chance to drop an iron helmet, iron chestplate, iron leggings or iron boots, in a badly damaged state, with a possibility of having a random enchantment. In Java Edition, Armourer villagers throw chainmail Armour to players who have the Hero of the Village status effect.]

Turtle Shell Armour has the highest toughness value of 2 points (The only crafting recipe currently available is the helmet)

Leather Armour has the highest toughness value of 7 points

Golden Armour has the highest toughness value of 11 points

Chainmail Armour has the highest toughness value of 12 points (The only methods of obtaining chainmail Armour are by getting lucky when trading with blacksmith villagers, mob loot, parts being spawned in a treasure chest or killing a mob that drops chainmail Armour)

Iron Armour has the highest toughness value of 15 points

Diamond Armour has the highest toughness value of 20 points

Each piece of diamond Armour gives +2 toughness. Diamond Armour is the toughest of all the Armours but does not stop knockback.

Netherite Armour has the highest toughness value of 20 points

Crafting-

24 Pieces of Material (Leather, Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots, or Diamonds)

(Optionally) Netherite Ingot

A set of Armour will require twenty four pieces of either leather, iron, gold, or diamonds. The boots costs four, leggings costs seven, chest-plate costs eight, and the helmet costs five for the total of twenty four pieces.

If you want to upgrade your diamond Armour into netherite Armour you will need a netherite ingot for each piece you want to upgrade. Each piece of Armour will only cost one netherite ingot.

  • Mob loot

Zombies, skeletons and their variants that spawn with Armour have a small chance of dropping their Armour when killed by the player. When killed, the Armour they drop can vary from 0 to full durability. Upon death, zombies, skeletons, zombified piglins, and wither skeletons always drop any Armour that they picked up and equipped. They may also be wearing enchanted Armour that retains the enchantment when dropped.

  • Trading

Leather Armour can be bought from leatherworker villagers. These Armour pieces have randomly determined colour.

Iron Armour/Chainmail Armour and enchanted diamond Armour can be bought from Armourer villagers.

  • Bartering

Piglins may barter iron boots enchanted with Soul Speed when given a gold ingot.

  • Fishing

Leather boots, often badly damaged, can be obtained as a junk item from fishing.
