Potions and their Effects!

This article gives you the recipes for all potions and their effects!



Potions with positive effects-


Potion of Healing- Restores your health.

Recipe: Nether wart, Glistering Melon, Glowstone Dust (Optional)


Potion of Regeneration- Restores health over time.

Recipe: Nether wart, Ghast Tear, Redstone Dust or Glowstone Dust (Optional)


Potion of Fire Resistance- Gives immunity to fire and lava. Great for fighting Blazes.

Recipe: Nether wart, Magma Cream, Redstone Dust (Optional)


Potion of Strength- Increases the damage you do in melee combat.

Recipe: Nether wart, Blaze Powder, Redstone Dust or Glowstone Dust (Optional)


Potion of Swiftness- Increases your speed.

Recipe: Nether wart, Sugar, Redstone Dust or Glowstone Dust (Optional)


Potion of Water- Breathing You can breathe under water for 3 minutes (8 minutes with Redstone dust).

Recipe: Nether wart, Raw Puffer Fish, Redstone Dust (Optional)


Potion of Night Vision- You can see in the dark.

Recipe: Nether wart, Golden Carrot, Redstone Dust (Optional)


Potion of Invisibility- Makes you invisible, but you have to take off your armour.

Recipe: Nether wart, Golden Carrot, Fermented Spider Eye, Redstone Dust (Optional)


Potion of Leaping- Allows you to jump higher, and reduces fall damage.

Recipe: Nether wart, Rabbit's Foot, Redstone Dust or Glowstone Dust (Optional)



Useful Splash Potions-


Splash Potion of Healing- Harms Skeletons, Zombies, Zombie Pigmen and Withers.

Recipe: Nether wart, Glistering Melon, Gunpowder, Glowstone Dust (Optional)


Splash Potion of Harming- Heals Skeletons, Zombies, Zombie Pigmen and Withers, but harms other mobs.

Recipe: Nether wart, Glistering Melon, Fermented Spider Eye, Gunpowder, Glowstone Dust (Optional)

OR

Recipe: Nether wart, Spider Eye, Fermented Spider Eye, Gunpowder, Glowstone Dust (Optional)


Splash Potion of Weakness- Useful against cave spiders; also can be used to heal Zombie villagers.

Recipe Anything or nothing, Fermented Spider Eye, Gunpowder, Redstone Dust (Optional)


Potions with negative effects-


Potion of Poison- Causes damage over time, but won’t kill.

Recipe: Nether wart, Spider Eye, Gunpowder, Redstone Dust or . (Optional)


Potion of Slowness- Reduces speed by 15%.

Recipe: Potion of Swiftness or Potion of Fire Resistance, Fermented Spider Eye, Gunpowder, Redstone Dust or Glowstone Dust (Optional)



Potion of Weakness- Reduces melee damage

Recipe: Potion of Strength or Potion of Regeneration, Fermented Spider Eye, Gunpowder, Redstone Dust or Glowstone Dust (Optional)


Lingering Potions-

First make Splash potions using the recipes above, then add Dragon’s Breath to create a Lingering Potion that can be used to make Tipped Arrows.


Potions with mixed effects-

Potion of the Turtle Master- Slows players/mobs and increases their resistance

Recipe: Nether Wart, Turtle Shell
